Schedule and Rules

Time: 9:00 am

Day training will be available on some Thursdays and Saturdays at 9:00am until finished.  Call for schedule.

 Fees:

$30.00 a day per dog if you work.  $50.00 a day per dog if you would rather not work or need to leave before everyone has run.  No dog limits.

Flyers are not included in training fee:  We only use ducks and they are $15.00 each.  If you don’t want a flyer you must make it known before you run your dog. Bumpers or dead birds will be available.  All shot flyers are the property of Buckshot Retrievers and will not be removed from the premises.

  *Day training is not a personal training session. It is a training day to personally work your own dog. 

 

 Reservations:

In the interest of good training we are limiting the groups to 6 persons.

 Training: 

 (We specialize in Gun dog and Field Trial Basics.)  Finished gun dogs and All age dogs are welcome, but will not be catered to.  The set ups could be well under your dogs level of training. 

The average day will consist of one set of marks and a single blind.  Training will be geared around Buckshot Retrievers needs at that time.  No yard work or drills will be done during Day training.

 

 

 Private training lessons: Available on Mondays only.  $100.00 per hour- *One hour minimum.  Anything over one hour will be prorated into half hour increments.  I will help you with the basic program or problem areas related to the foundation work.

  

  Property Rules

 

Property Rules:

-          No individual training is allowed on the property before or after. 

-          All dogs must air/exercise in the triangle marked as “E” on the training area map.

-          No children under the age of 16 are allowed on the property during training.

-          All minors over 16 must remain with their parents or guardian at all times.

-          No day trainers are allowed in the Torrey’s residence before, during or after day training.  A restroom is available at the front office.  A key will be given to you upon request.

-          All day trainers must sign a Waiver, Assumption of Risk, and Agreement to Indemnify and Hold Harmless in favor of Buckshot retrievers and Mead Ranch ownership.  

-          Ranch speed limit is 12 MPH. Anyone driving too fast for conditions will not be asked back.

-          Keep your vehicles on the existing roads unless directed by Buckshot Retrievers or Mead Ranch ownership.

-          Pick up empty shot gun shells after shooting.

WAIVER, ASSUMPTION OF RISK, AND
AGREEMENT TO INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS
(Day Training)

I understand that attending a retriever dog day training session is not without risk to my dog, myself, members of my family or guests who may attend.  The dangers may include, by way of example and not limitation, (a) animals that are difficult to control and that may bite, trip, knock down or fight, (b) the use of shot guns during the training session, and (c) natural and man-made hazards (e.g., equipment, slippery surfaces, or trip hazards) that may exist on the Mead Ranch premises.  I also understand and agree that neither the owners of Mead Ranch nor Buckshot Retrievers nor any of their respective employees, agents, representatives, or principals (all such persons and companies are referred to as the “Indemnified Parties”) makes any representations regarding the condition of the premises or any of the dogs or individuals that will be present at the training session. 

Understanding all these risks and understanding that none of the Indemnified Parties is willing to allow me to enter the Mead Ranch premises or attend a dog training session unless I assume all such risks, I hereby voluntarily agree as follows:

On behalf of myself, my heirs, and representatives, and on behalf of my spouse and minor children and anyone else whom I bring onto the Mead Ranch premises (collectively, “My Parties”), I hereby (a) waive any and all legal duties on the part of any of the Indemnified Parties to keep the premises free or dangers or defects or to warn of any of dangers or defects and (b) release each of the Indemnified Parties from, and I assume the risk of, any injury, death, loss, damage, cost, and/or expense suffered or incurred by any of My Parties or any dog of ours for any reason whatsoever, even if due to the ACTIVE NEGLIGENCE of an Indemnified Party.  In making these waivers and releases, I fully understand the provisions of Section 1542 of the California Civil Code, which states as follows:

 “A general release does not extend to claims which the creditor does not know or suspect to exist in his favor at the time of executing the release, which if known by him must have materially affected his settlement with the debtor.” 

I hereby expressly waive and release any right or benefit Civil Code Section 1542 may provide any of My Parties as a creditor of any Indemnified Party.

Hold Harmless

 All persons entering the Mead, Garcia, or Lakeside ranches must sign a hold harmless waiver. No exceptions.
